FAQs

Welcome!

Each piece of jewelry I create comes directly from my home studio in Spencer, Indiana. This little business is a one woman show, owned and operated by me, Amber Penland. Jewelry making is both my creative outlet and favorite hobby, but I don’t rely on it as my main source of income. I do this simply for the joy of it, because I love making things and I love offering my art to those who feel connected to it. So in order for me to keep this business as joyful and stress-free as possible, I’ve outlined my basic policies and FAQs here. Please read through everything before placing an order with me!

1. Customs/ Commissions

Unfortunately, I do not accept custom orders. In order for me to enjoy my work I need to have the freedom to create what I want to, when I want to. I simply cannot create joyfully under any other circumstances.

2. Resizes

Due to the handmade nature of my work, I do not offer resizes whatsoever. In order to do so, I would have to take the entire piece apart and either start over, or put in hours more work. I am happy to keep certain ring sizes in mind for future pieces, but cannot guarantee that I will create what you want in your specific size. Please know your correct ring size/ wrist measurement before ordering from my shop!

3. Can I reserve/pre-order a piece of jewelry before it is listed?

Sorry, but no. If I do it for one person, then I have to do it for everyone and in order to keep everything fair I cannot accommodate this.

4. Will you make this design again?

It is rare that I make repeats of my designs. I use my art to process my emotions and inner dialogue, so to return to older designs often feels like living in the past. I like to explore certain prominent themes in my work (such as eyes and moons) in different ways so that my designs are constantly moving forward.

5. Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! My shop offers Afterpay. If you do not have Afterpay or wish to use another payment plan, contact me and we can work something out. I will require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total up front. From there, we can work out a payment schedule that works for both of us. Each payment received is non-refundable and your order will only ship once your piece is paid for in full.

6. Shipping

I ship everything via USPS First Class or USPS Priority Mail. You may choose your method of shipping at checkout. Once I drop your packages off, they are no longer my responsibility. I have rarely had issue with USPS, but it happens. Please be absolutely sure you have all your information entered in correctly before placing an order with me. Should your package become lost or stolen, it is not my responsibility to track it down for you. All packages come with a tracking number, so you should be able to look up any information yourself. If a package comes back to me, you the buyer, are responsible for any extra shipping charges.

7. Caring for your jewelry

Jewelry is art and therefore should be treated with the upmost care. To prolong the life of your piece, be sure to remove it before swimming or doing any strenuous activity. Lotions, perfumes, cleaning products and chemicals can damage stones and patina, so you always want to remove your jewelry before using any of those types of products. Jewelry is best stored in a dry, air-tight location.
